Allison Guilbault is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and in the state of New Jersey is a Licensed Associate Counselor. She received her Bachelors of Arts from NYU and two mental health related Master’s Degrees from John Jay University.
Allison’s professional experience includes positions as a sexual education educator at Planned Parenthood, a Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Counselor at New York Presbyterian, a Correctional Mental Health Treatment Aide at Rikers Island Correctional Facility and is currently a Family Specialist at a non-profit agency. She also is involved in trauma aide and mental health outreach and volunteers internationally.
Allison believes in a strength-based and person-centered approach and uses a combination of theoretical approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and Mindfulness techniques.
She also has extensive experience in the treatment of trauma-related issues and practices trauma-informed care.
